Athletic vs. athletics

I would think that the grammatically accurate title would be "Athletics Director" or "Director of Athletics", with athletics used as a plural noun; rather than "Athletic Director" which would make no sense as "Director of Athletic", with athletic used as an adjective. Just sayin'... Thanks, DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 18:49, 11 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
