World Record

The time of 2:54.20 min, achieved at July 22nd 1998, was canceled due to the doping confession of team member Antonio Pettigrew (see here). The former world record of 2:54,29 min, achieved by the US-Team (Andrew Valmon, Quincy Watts, Harry Reynolds and Michael Johnson) at August 22nd 1993 in Stuttgart, Germany, was reinstated.--OlympicLegends (talk) 18:12, 4 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
