Unnamed heading

While I have nothing againt or for the singer, parts of the article sound more like a praise than a how an objective encyclopedia entry should be written. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.80.145.2 (talk) 13:58, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Removed a few statents under this heading because those who posted it thought that atif aslam will reply :D Also, I added a reference.... looks like that website is the source for this page... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Andrewsamuels1988 (talkcontribs) 13:54, 6 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Clean-up

Reason for placing the cleanup tag is that every 'tom dick and harry' is coming and editing the article like mad adding unreferenced information time and again. So, it is requested to revert any possible IP vandalism when ever possible. --Managerarc (talk) 15:23, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

An image used in this article, File:Atif aslam1.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is
    non-free
    then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)

No mention of Goher Mumtaz

Atif started his career with Goher Mumtaz when the duo recorded Aadat, and yet no mention of him in the entire article? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fasi100 (talkcontribs) 11:00, 30 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

21 August 2016

Dear fellow editors;
I am leaving the present message out of courtesy to other editors watching this article. Although I don't know this artist at all, I carried out a lot of copy editing today:

  • replaced all occurrences of his first name with his surname, per
    MOS:SURNAME
  • restructured the sections and renamed some of their headers
  • tried to organize the prose in chronological order
  • added his full name and date of birth in the infobox
  • fixed small things like punctuation and typos
  • italicized album and film titles, per
    MOS:TITLE
  • added double quotation marks around song titles, per
    MOS:TITLEQUOTES
  • generally streamlined the prose to enable it to read more fluently
  • added the {{citation needed|date=August 2016}} template where necessary.

I hope one or more editor(s) knowledgeable about this artist can take over and further refine the article, since I feel I have achieved as much as I could for now. Thank you!
With kind regards;
Patrick. ツ Pdebee.(talk)(guestbook) 16:25, 21 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Editors please look out for vandalism

Editors, please look out for users trying to remove huge content for a few references. They are deleting huge sections of the article without discussion, even though they have been reviewed multiple times. Specially the "Singing style and recognition" section. Please look out for editors intentionally trying to remove content from this page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Navonedu (talkcontribs) 20:39, 4 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

See
WP:QUOTEFARM. Everybody who has received as much coverage as this subject would be subjected to praises by other notable people however Wikipedia is not supposed to be used like a fansite. Georgethedragonslayer (talk) 05:09, 14 March 2021 (UTC)[reply

Basically my exact reason for the revert as well. It's a lot of unconnected quotes, not much analysis that isn't
WP:OR. I don't mind sections on this, but it needs to be sourced to sources that explicitly do the analysis and comparisons. Not gawd-awful click-bait crappy sources, not paid news sources, but good, well-written analytical pieces. Ravensfire (talk) 15:49, 14 March 2021 (UTC)[reply

A lot of content which contained puffery was already removed. There are simple statements which critics the subject as well. Legacy is an important part of any article about a celebrity specially singers and poets — Preceding unsigned comment added by Navonedu (talkcontribs) 12:06, 14 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Navonedu And yet you continue to restore content that multiple editors have removed. Discuss the content here before re-adding. Slywriter (talk) 13:26, 14 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Use of full name/first name/surname?

The person (subject of the article) has been variously referred to by his full name, first name or surname. I am not sure which is the correct way, but there must be uniformity. Could someone look into this?

Semi-protected edit request on 22 March 2021

Hi, please remove the tag {{

Copyedit}}. It has been copyedited enough. If the tag remains it'll get more disruptive edits. So, by removing the tag, it'll have low traffic and already it has enough copyedited. Thanks! 37.111.139.55 (talk) 06:17, 22 March 2021 (UTC)[reply
]

 Not done: Skimming through the article it still doesn't seem entirely without issue, and looking through the recent history it still seems people are copy editing the page. People who look through the articles needing copy edit category usually make constructive edits, I don't think you should worry about the maintenance template causing disruption. I'm sure someone will remove the template in good time. Volteer1 (talk) 14:53, 22 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Not all the edits are regarding copyedit, some users has made disruptive edits too. If you continue to place this tag on it, more and more it'll get unconstructive and disruptive edits. Have a look at the article, the copyedit tag should be removed. Thanks! 37.111.130.95 (talk) 16:50, 22 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
 Not done for now: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{edit semi-protected}} template. When your edit request is contested, like this one was, it servers no purpose to reopen the request unless you have clear consensus for your change. Melmann 10:25, 23 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Help with Edit: Unrelated Content in Upcoming Songs

The subsection "Upcoming songs" in the section "Career" contains information which is not related to his upcoming songs. It features the events of his past career, which are in no way related to that particular subsection.

So, that content should be moved to other subsections according to the year of the event, or otherwise should be deleted. Codyandersan (talk) 06:29, 17 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
