Not sure is it ok to add DPR information about Ukrainian casualties mentioned in the recently added source. DPR claims 230 killed and 450 wounded Ukrainian troops. --VoidWanderer (talk) 20:05, 3 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It's attributed. I think, however, that the infobox should follow the norm we've adopted for other articles about the conflict in Ukraine, being that the sets of figures are differentiated according to Ukrainian and DPR claims. As

Given that the

WP:CALC figures for a lower (and approximate) number are CALC, I think that the figures given by the DPR themselves are appropriate. This doesn't make one or another of the numbers truer than the other set, but it does assist the reader with an 'at a glance' summary... and that is the purpose of an infobox. If the discrepancy between the numbers were implausibly disparate, I'd be reticent to use them. --Iryna Harpy (talk) 20:26, 3 February 2017 (UTC)[reply

That was the original question – their numbers for UAF losses are 230 killed and 450 wounded. The discrepancy is enormous, obviously. I'll leave it up to community to decide. --VoidWanderer (talk) 21:28, 3 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Considering both the DPR and Ukraine are claiming enormous figures (DPR - 230 Ukrainian dead for the whole battle & Ukraine - 26 DPR dead for just one day of the battle), figures that are not in any way supported by third-party sources like the UN or media outlets who are reporting the death toll being just several dozen, I think we should stick only to independently confirmed deaths or self-admitted figures (Ukraine claim for Ukraine dead & DPR claim for DPR dead). During the 3rd day of the Battle of Avdiivka (February 3) the press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov said during a press conference: "We hope that they have enough ammunition to respond to the aggressive actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine".
