Forgot I made that edit- my reasoning was that this sounds more like a review of the thing than an encyclopaedic entry-

"However, after a memorable scene that demonstrates an imaginative use of peppermint foot lotion,"

"Slowly it dawns on Ste, that he should accept another person's love, this most Beautiful Thing of all, no matter if other people find that idea repulsive."

"this film achieves an amazing blend of realism and gay romanticism unparalleled by other works"

amongst other examples.

I've reworked the plot synopsis where I thought it did a bit more subjective judgement of the meaning of the characters' actions. I let the peppermint foot lotion stand, and I don't see that as being POV. Cleduc 16:40, 2 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cass Elliot

Was the use of Cass Elliot as the predominant soundtrack present on the original stage production or was this something introduced for the film? -- Fursday 22:16, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Plot section

It is unclear whether the plot section is describing the play, the film, or both. The section begins by noting the film's cast, but later states "the play ends..." Assuming both play and film are similar, someone familiar with both should copyedit this section so it applies to both and specify as such in the first sentence. Any notable discrepancies can be noted in a final sentence/paragraph, or perhaps with parentheticals or footnotes within the text if they are relatively minor. I'd do it myself but I haven't seen the movie in years and wasn't aware until now that it was based on a play. Thanks. — TAnthonyTalk 18:28, 30 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've watched the film so know the plot and actors named conform with that and have split the film into its own article. If someone familiar with the play can remove what applies only to the film from the remaining text here that would be helpful. I have already removed the actors names from the play text that were only in the film version.RafikiSykes (talk) 07:06, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Filmed in Thamesmead?

"The story is set and filmed on Thamesmead, a working class area of South East London dominated by post-war council estates."

Not quite. Thamesmead was only one of the filming locations in the area, both Abbey Wood (a short distance from Thamesmead) and Belvedere (slightly further away again) were also used on more than one occasion. Filming pretty much switched between Abbey Wood (for many externals) and Thamesmead (at least visually, as I say later I am not sure exactly how much WAS filmed there). For instance, the first scene with them jumping in the water is filmed in Southmere lakeside centre (the playing fields is right next to the waterside) which is on the Abbey Wood side of Eastern Way (the road betwen Thamesmead/Abbey Wood/Belvedere).

Additionally, I lived in Thamesmead at the time they filmed it and although I'm not a reliable source and I can't speak for ALL of Thamesmead, there was only one scene filmed in the part of Thamesmead I lived in (and I recognise no other part as definitely Thamesmead, even the house they live in looks like its in Abbey Wood) and that scene was cut out of the final edit 78.86.230.62 (talk) 21:25, 9 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
