Production years

I'm confused as to why the first paragraph of this article says that the Mulsanne was produced through 1987. The final year of production (in the form of the Mulsanne S) was clearly 1992. I'd make this change myself, but I want to know if 1987 is an error or if there was some logic behind calling 1987 the final year of production. Jagvar 21:18, 2 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Merge with
Bentley Mulsanne 2011

Traditionnally, all the cars bearing the same name, and covering the same range - the new Mulsanne is a replacement of the Arnage which was itself a replacement of the old Mulsanne - are grouped in the same article. Therefore I suggest a merge of both articles. Hektor (talk) 11:21, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I created the article about the 2011 Mulsanne, and while I agree with the above principle, the old Mulsanne and the new Mulsanne are completely different cars. They don't share the same platform, parts or features. In fact the name is the only common feature in both cars. Which is why I created a new article. Georgiebest7 16:34, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

they dont have to be same platform, same name is enough to be in same page, and both article seems to be very short so they could be in same page --Typ932 T·C 16:42, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Disagree with merger. Completely different cars with an 18 year gap between them. The 1980's version is a badge engineered R-R, the 2010 version is with Bentley as an independent company from R-R, and has nothing to do with current Rolls. No need for merging pages

The new Bentley Mulsanne for 2011 model year is a completely different car with a different platform, unrelated to the originnal car. After the Frankfurt show, we will have more details so the page can be expanded. Rather we can make 2 pages, Bentley Mulsanne (1980-1992) and Bentley Mulsanne(2011 onwards). • Very bad idea, and done without prior discussion. Hektor (talk) 07:13, 22 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
