Which Oakland?
There are three (count 'em, three) "Oakland"s in Wisconsin. Any idea WHICH he was born in? Badbilltucker 13:15, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
- You can also add 2 more Oakland, Wisconsin-2 unincorporated communities in 2 different counties. Thank you-RFD (talk) 12:27, 3 November 2011 (UTC)
- No specifics, but according to a SABR bio here, he was born in Oakland, Wisconsin; however, he was went to high school at Fort Atkinson. It can only be conjecture, but I assume, he was born in the closest farm community called Oakland.Neonblak talk - 12:34, 3 November 2011 (UTC)
- I found an article from the Milwaukee Journal January 29, 1965 about the death of Billy Sullivan. This confirms he was born in Jefferson County in the town of Oakland. I added it to the article. Thank you-RFD (talk) 17:41, 3 November 2011 (UTC)

Requested move 11 April 2024
- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: moved. Consensus that the existing title is ambiguous enough as to require a more detailed DAB. An alternate title using "(1900s catcher)" as the DAB was proposed on grounds of
Billy Sullivan (baseball) → Billy Sullivan (baseball, born 1875) – avoid confusion with Billy Sullivan Jr. Joeykai (talk) 02:49, 11 April 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. Natg 19 (talk) 23:35, 18 April 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. BilledMammal (talk) 03:52, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
- Move to ]
- Comment, maybe they should both be disambiguated as per NCBASE above, Jr. is also sometimes called just Billy Sullivan.--Ortizesp (talk) 12:43, 11 April 2024 (UTC)
- Support the 1875 one has 154 views but Billy Sullivan Jr. has 39[[1]] which probably isn't enough for a PDAB. Crouch, Swale (talk) 17:24, 19 April 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose as unnecessary WP:OVERPRECISION. There's no confusion. These are two different titles and both are very lightly viewed, with no evidence anyone landing on this article wants the other. And for the very rare reader, a hatnote is already in place. Station1 (talk) 05:01, 6 May 2024 (UTC)]
- Support, since Ortizesp indicated that Billy Sullivan Jr. has sometimes been called just Billy Sullivan. — BarrelProof (talk) 17:14, 6 May 2024 (UTC)
- Support per nom and BarrelProof. Clearly ambiguous. -- Necrothesp (talk) 12:41, 14 May 2024 (UTC)

- Seems fine though I don't know a lot about NC so I'll go with it if that's what people think. Crouch, Swale (talk) 07:37, 21 May 2024 (UTC)
