• Keep present name – the term interaction is common with these weak forces; other examples include
  intermolecular interaction. If the hydrogen bond were discovered now I believe that it is likely that the word bond would not be used in its name, but the name is well established and isn't going to change. As a chemist, I would say that the connotations of the term 'bond' make it unsuitable for describing a cation-pi interaction. EdChem (talk) 11:05, 23 January 2012 (UTC)[reply
