This information is about Cecil R. King, US Representative for California. The problem is that his Congressional District was re-Districted in 1973, and it is difficult to know the region he served.

The link to the 17th Congressional District is misleading. I tried it and for a while I thought that Cecil R. King was from Monterey County. I just wanted to note that the 17th Congressional District was for Los Angeles until it was re-Districted to the 35th Congressional District in 1973; then again to the 32nd. The information is in table form at the wikipedia location for the 17th Congressional District of California. The historical perspective should be included appropriately at the District entry. Simply that the Districts are re-Districted is not intuitive to normal people. Like myself, I just want to know what region it is that Cecil R. King served.

An example of his representation is the Redondo Beach, King Harbor; 1956. He was the "... congressman who saw to it that the harbor project was included in the omnibus Rivers and Harbors Bill in Congress." http://www.khyc.org/about/history.htm

I looked into the Rivers and Harbors Bill and there are many. I am certain that he served on a committee and that I am interested in something that probably would not appear in wikipedia. But then why wouldn't this fact get mentioned on Cecil R. King's wikipedia page. I would like to see some of the Committee's records. I will however settle for someone's edit in his wikipedia page about the Rivers and Harbors Bill; Does it have an HR number?

An Anecdote of the Honorable Cecil H. King

In January of 1960 Congressman Cecil King of California stopped me in yhe hall stating, "Everything went well on my phyical examination until I was reached the Ear, Nose, and Throat Department. They found that I do not have a "Gag Reflex". This has concerned me over the weekend, but I think I know the reason."
"When I was a child my mother insisted that I brush my tongue each time I brush my teeth. I went her one better. I brushed my whole mouth and throat!"
That was in 1960. In 1965 the King-Anderson Bill was passed by the U.S. Congress thus establishing Medicare. They could not gag Congressman Cecil King!
