Fiorio's rally tactics

Someone who has some knowledge of rally should mention Fiorio's contributions to tactics. I recall that in Greece he made sure the best driver got the cleanest air (and, presumably, that the competitors would drive into fresh billows of dust). In one Monte Carlo stage, he scheduled a tyre change in the middle of the stage so that the snowy half of the stage would be on snows and the icy half on studded slicks. He may have popularized using helicopters in close support until that was banned.

If his close reading of the rule books and his team tactics broke any ground, that should be mentioned. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.252.217.51 (talk) 17:41, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
