Something weird here.

Quote: "When his father was captured by the Normans and held, both his sons were demanded as ransom for his release. Queen Gerberga would only send Charles, who was then handed over and his father was released into the custody of Hugh Capet."
Charles is said to be born summer of 953, his father is said to have died 954-Sep-10. Was even young Charles weaned at that time? His father was an involuntary guest 945/46, but definitely out-of-jail in 948. Something smells.... We can't afford statements like this if we bother about what people will think about wikipedia / Ola

Death

"Karel van Neder-Lotharingen (953 - Orléans, 22 juni 992)" is what the Dutch WP says; why not 993?--Johnsoniensis (talk) 07:59, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

However the French WP says «Charles de Basse-Lotharingie1, né à Laon durant l'été 953 et mort le 12 juin 991 à Orléans»; it is odd to have exact dates in those articles and here he is said to died some time in or before 993.--Johnsoniensis (talk) 08:03, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I have tried to sort it out. The date is 22 June. The year is unknown, but must have been 992 at the earliest and 995 at the latest, unless there is some debate over the dating of Adalbero and Odo's attempted coup. Srnec (talk) 23:19, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
