Merge proposal

Stong don't merge - I don't know who proposed this - you don't give me much time - I'm making a template for all the ferry wharves in Sydney (commuter ones anyway) to have a good record of entries of ferry wharves in Sydney. If this is merged it will stuff up all my formatting. This page will have all the ferry information which doesn't belong in the geographical area article, which can incorporate a lot more (stuff like the Toaster, Opera House, Overseas Passenger Terminal, the MCA, Customs House, etc.) Please don't merge. It's been a week - and no one has even written a merge proposal. I'm removing this tag and leaving this article. (

What is this?

Semi-circular Quay

Hi all - this image in the article has no description or reference back to the article. It's not representative of Circular Quay in a previous or its current form. Relevance to the article subject should be established and provided in the image caption, and appropriate info in the article text...if indeed it is relevant. thank you --Merbabu (talk) 01:44, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

ah - there is a block of un-referenced text about proposals - hmmm, there have always been proposals to change Circular Quay. I wonder whether these are self-promotional? Undue weight? --Merbabu (talk) 01:50, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Urrghh - that whole section is a mess. Largely unreferenced. see
WP:SOURCE
Would be good to hear comment from others. I might start addressing these issues soon if time permits. --Merbabu (talk) 01:59, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Worth raising as an item on Wikipedia:Australian Wikipedians' notice board. Fleet Lists (talk) 02:07, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
It could be someone confusing the article "Circular Quay" with an article about quays that are circular. Idk maybe a stupid interpretation. IWI (chat) 04:57, 9 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
More likely a proposal though, that is clear. The lack of context in the caption is confusing. IWI (chat) 04:59, 9 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Update

So, i just went in and removed most of the offending material. diffs Seems to be a vanity write up by a non-notable architect. The controversial East Circular development was indeed a significant period in the history, and I'm not saying that my new pared-back description is ideal (far from it), but it's better than the NPOV, poorly referenced, self promotional material. --Merbabu (talk) 00:12, 23 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Pictures

Interseting pic of west circular quay with old Commissariat building before the MSB/MCA building. Free to upload and use on wikipedia if anyone has the time: https://archives.cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au/nodes/view/713793 --Merbabu (talk) 10:28, 12 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
