separate article

I created a separate article for Paul Williams (Crawdaddy! creator), mainly because upon discovering this article I wondered if he was the more famous one, the singer and actor. I used the last paragraph of this article and will credit the author in the talk page of the new article. Also clarified that Crawdaddy! is now defunct. I can see your point of view here (just don't call it "sci-fi" please); but Ted White and Samuel Delany, at least, are big names: Ted as a jazz critic and Delany as an author. Also, Ted was the "my mimeographer has gone to Mexico" mentioned in issue #2 of Crawdaddy! [1] I'd like to at least restore them to the honor roll. --Orange Mike 19:43, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Surely, there's lots more to starting a mag than getting writers & some names could be noted - though sourcing who did what (apart from doing OR based on memories) could be a problem. Also, the current article glosses over the fact there were 3 phases (at least) to the magazine - that needs expansion too --JimWae 05:19, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Website address

FYI: The website address was not listed "incorrectly," but rather the new owners of Crawdaddy have bought the crawdaddy.com domain name that was formerly owned by a band of that name and reconfigured things. --Pleasantville (talk) 11:56, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There is little on the talk page to indicate specifically what prompted each tag. The tags are applied to the article as a whole and not very useful for helping editors fix the perceived problems without more specific information on the talk page. Ralph Gleason is noted San Francisco newspaper music critic, author, co-founder of Rolling Stone magazine. Should be mention in current version of article.

The Ralph Gleason in table of contributors for first 16 issues is the one in this subject line and all the statements in subject line can be sourced. Think San Francisco Chronicle was the newspaper and he was a nationally known and influential music critic at least in the 1960s and 1970s. Unsure if he contributed to Crawdaddy! before or after co-founding Rolling Stone with Jann Wenner. "The San Francisco Sound" is a book he wrote which I recall offhand and own a copy of. This seems very notable to me.

For that matter, I recognize about half these contributors as being notable in various fields and wonder why more isn't mentioned about this. It's really quite remarkable. Refrigerator Heaven (talk) 12:40, 20 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Bad or Questionable Link

Google currently reports 'Crawdaddy.com' (http not repeated here) listed on the External Links list as a reported attack page; results for Ask, Bing, or other search engines haven't been tried--why take a chance that Google knows something they don't?. I don't know enough about the Wikipedia rules to claim that the link 'ought to' be fixed or removed, but while typing this section I decided to go ahead and add a note about Google so no one will be startled.

Here in Wikipedia, the term "attack page" has an entirely different meaning. Google describes crawdaddy.com as a page which contains malware. --Orange Mike | Talk 12:38, 25 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
