I agree, even German wikipedia use the name Gudrun, and given that it primarily affected Sweden, article should use name used there. Article moved to Cyclone Gudrun. Lacunae (talk) 20:19, 11 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The information that the Swedish government has had enormous insurancecosts due to the storm needs to be supported by sources.

I´m a fairly active forestowner and except for the reduction in diesel during a short period of time, and less environmental restrictions no insurancemoney have been payed. Forestowners who had insurances that did cover wind (which very few had) did get insurancemoney payed from the insurancecompany. Most people did not have this insurance. Of course these forestowners recievec an enormous payment for their timber, but this was payed for by the companys who bought the timber. Most of this timber was in the uptake-region of Södra which is an economic organisation that is owned by the forrestowners themselfes. These people did end up getting payed a lot, due to the construction of the organisation but again, this had nothing to do with the government.

Severe storms occurring over the Atlantic Oscean are called hurricanes, while cyclones technically are the same thing, they are only given this name if they occur over the Indian Ocean or the southwestern Pacific. To be classified as a hurricane, typhoon, or cyclone, a storm must reach wind speeds of at least 74 miles per hour (119 kilometers per hour). If Gudrun indeed was over 74 miles per hour, it should be classified as a hurricane, not a cyclone. As such, the entry should be renamed to 'Hurricane Gudrun'
