Biography of Danny Blanchflower

I added Reference

  • David Bowler (1997). Danny Blanchflower: The Biography of a Visionary. Orion. .

Someone should incorporate information from this book into this article.--User:Brenont (talk) 16:18, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'd put this in the article, but sourcing a hatnote seems excessive. The economist David Blanchflower is commonly known as "Danny" as noted by this blog, this bio, this article and this bio. Pfainuk talk 11:46, 11 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's fine, but someone else will likely come along and remove it for the same reason I did. A better explanation in the hatnote is necessary. -

I've added the nickname to the David Blanchflower article, and pointed out that this is his nickname in the note itself. Pfainuk talk 10:20, 12 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have just deleted the David Blanchflower hatnote, prior to reading this thread. I checked the David Blanchflower article first though and could see no mention in that of him being referred to as 'Danny', and thus the note added by Pfainuk above is no longer there. It perhaps reinforces why the hatnote was not needed. Eldumpo (talk) 22:45, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
David Blanchflower states in the first line that he's sometimes referred to as 'Danny', with sources. I've restored the hatnote. Robofish (talk) 12:55, 23 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
