WTLS (Wireless Transport Layer Security)

Can someone comment on similarity/difference from WTLS (e.g. http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/W/WTLS.html)? Yaron 22:37, Feb 27, 2005 (UTC)

I couldn't (although they sound very similar!) but I've stuck a request for WTLS at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Cryptography#Some_open_tasks. — Matt Crypto 16:58, 28 Feb 2005 (UTC)
Looked it up. Sec. 9.2 of this good article criticizes WTLS. The article does not give technical details of the differences, but there seem to be many of them. Yaron 22:22, Mar 3, 2005 (UTC)
The designers of WTLS simply were not competent and made numerous mistakes, one of the most serious being to get the layering completely wrong (it made no sense at all to layer it between WTP and WDP). See the paper Attacks against the WAP WTLS protocol for other problems. --

Does this protocol rely on pre-shared keys? Trusted third parties? Exchange of pre-installed certificates? Exchange of per-session throw-away certificates? 139.169.172.141 (talk) 20:18, 14 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Library support

I've added a ref improve tag to the "Libraries" section because the specific claims about library support are not supported by references in column headers. -- Mikeblas (talk) 20:56, 10 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
