One problem with Ethiopian dates is that the Ethiopian calendar is 7 to 8 years behind the Western/Georgian one the rest of the world uses (they start the calendar year on September 11, so right now it's 2001 EC until next month when it becomes 2002 EC). Sometimes EC years are accidentally given as the year AD/CE, or the two are confused at one point, & a secondary source makes what she/he thinks is the proper correction without having or looking for a way to verify the correction, & pushes the date further in the wrong direction. (The 1911 EB article on Lij Iyasu V, for example, made this mistake & stated his year of birth as 7 years too early.) -- llywrch (talk) 16:42, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Children
Since Ras Desta Damtew was married to the Royal family there are a bunch of wiki articles about his children. I wanted to see if I can add a section for children and link to those articles. (Baryaw (talk) 17:33, 29 June 2011 (UTC))[reply]
