Any thoughts or opinions about moving this to Disciples of Ramakrishna? Apostle sounds somehow Biblical. And, I feel it reflects a POV more than Disciples would. But I see that the page redirects from Direct Disciples... Was it moved? Devadaru (talk) 03:27, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

yes Disciples is a better term, and moreover, he never wanted his disciples to go and preach, as the word apostle indicate. --

Yes and No. Disciples is no problem but Apostles is not wrong. Sri Ramakrishna did instruct his disciples to go and preach. I will cite for now two well known instances. He asked Holy Mother Sarada Devi, his Wife to look after the spiritual needs of people. He wrote in his own hand that Vivekananda (Naren) would teach people, not only India but also outside. That is why Ramakrishna Mission is a missionary organisation. But it doesn't convert people away from any other religion. It teaches them to realize the real spiritual truths in whichever path they find suitable for their growth and salvation. (Swami1980 (talk) 20:50, 3 July 2009 (UTC))[reply]
