Poorly sourced paragraph - Controversy

The source for this paragraph comes from the Spanish article Bebé de Edith González, fruto de inseminación artificial. That article translates as:

It is now being said (by no credited reliable source) that her baby was conceived by articial insemination and that each week the rumor is growing stronger that the baby belongs to a former presidential candidate who is not named in the article.

This is rumor built upon innuendo and should not be in the bio of a living person. While her pregnancy is mentioned in her IMDb article, there is no reference to this there. Morenooso 05:55, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Too many links (see
WP:NOT#MIRROR

There are too many links to fansites on this bio. Many are Tripod sites with one Tripod site that claims to be her official site but then changes to a fansite when the link is clicked. Foros is Spanish for forum or a talkpage for fans to post comments upon the subject. Often they are not policed. Even the Argentinean site on one of her shows, Corazón salvaje (1993 TV series) has a link to videos which may violate copyright statuses.

This set of links needs to be weedwhacked down to three or four reputable sites. Morenooso 06:17, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your good efforts. It is better to simply have a stub of a living person if reliable sources cannot be basis of the article. The fansite is not a reliable source, so I had to remove all info based upon it per WP:BLP. CyberAnth 06:46, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Actually "foros" is the plural of foro, the Spanish word for forum. It will be tough to find reliable sources on telenovelas and telenovela actors which are neither gossip (chisme) or primary sources. Wikipedia has this policy vs. primary sources as if when one views an episode of a telenovela then one should not be able to write what one saw on Wikipedia. Example, in Doña Barabara Gonzalez kisses Meier. So if one writes on that telenovela, then one theoretically cannot cite (e.g.) Capitulo 37 as the source to verify that in DB, Gonzalez kissed Meier. Then to verify it one would need to waste time searching through telenovela magazines that say that Gonzalez kissed Meier. Of course such a rule is nonsense when writing about telenovelas and actors in telenovelas. Now where would you find a source on a telenovela or actor in a telenovela, which source is "policed"? Abortion or Aborto?

The article says "Recently had a abortion; & is now married." (That is a string of words with no subject.) What is the proof of the abortion? Apparently the Spanish word "aborto" can mean either abortion or miscarriage. I think that the correct word is miscarriage in this case. As it stands it may be defamatory -- except to the miserable persons who think is is fine to murder babies! Technically, in English "abortion" could be used for a spontaneous loss of baby in the first 3 months. But I think that Gonzalez had a miscarriage at 5 months. At any rate, such a statement requires proof or should not be made. (EnochBethany (talk) 06:06, 8 November 2010 (UTC))[reply]
