"Discovery" vs. Contact
In the section on Open Veins, I changed the text "the European discovery of the New World" to "European contact with the New World." Minor, but I thought it was important.Khuryps 18:59, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

Puerto Rico Independence
I think this part is self-serving, as I see it has been copied over the pages of pretty much all the writers mentioned.
On January 26, 2006, Galeano joined other internationally renowned figures and Latin American authors such as Nobel-laureate Gabriel García Márquez, Mario Benedetti, Ernesto Sábato, Carlos Monsiváis, Pablo Armando Fernández, Jorge Enrique Adoum, Luis Rafael Sánchez, Mayra Montero, Ana Lydia Vega and world famous singer/composer Pablo Milanés, in demanding sovereignty for Puerto Rico and adding their name and signature to the Latin American and Caribbean Congress' Proclamation for the Independence of Puerto Rico, which approved a resolution favoring the island-nation's right to assert its independence, as ratified unanimously by political parties hailing from twenty two Latin American countries in November 2006. Galeano's demand for the recognition of Puerto Rico's independence was obtained at the behest of the Puerto Rican Independence Party (PIP). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 148.87.1.167 (talk) 22:08, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
Eduardo Galeano Agnosticism
Eduardo Galeano was a Christian when he was young but he later lost a conventional religious faith. I think its most accurate to present him as an agnostic. In this interview to Argentine newspaper La Nación, he clearly states that he is not a religious believer: [1]Mistico (talk) 23:28, 9 January 2016 (UTC)
