Why should the title be "eels" (with a lower case 'e') and not "Eels"?

"Eels" was spelled "eels" for the first two albums and thus many fans refer to them as such. On a related note, E was never known as "Mr. E" during his solo career nor has he ever been officially called this, so putting this informal nickname on par with his official moniker "E" would be confusing. It would be like calling Madonna "Ms. Madonna" or Dido "Ms. Dido." Yes, on stage he is often ironically introduced as "Mr. E" and there's a song with that in the title, but "E" is his official moniker for both his solo career and for Eels. Blues?

Despite the album title, there's no discernable blues on any of the Eels albums that I've heard. There's a specific harmonic progression central to pretty much all blues -- a I / V / IV pattern -- and other typical features that aren't featured in the Eels' music. I've always thought that the blues in his album titles and songs meant: 'blues' as in 'feeling down' or 'upset' although i do see your point and hey, you could well be right. I know i'm sometimes wrong :o)

Ahem. Let me just say, first off, these "RM" efforts would be better spent on a request for the domain "Eels (band)". Now, since you've made this a case of "EELS (band)" over "Eels", I'll explain. The title "Eels" could easily refer to the species and several other uses. Analogy: Heroes redirects to Hero (disambiguation) as the title could be simply the plural for Hero or refer to, say, the new TV show. I've been disambiguating for hours and let me tell you, "eels" could refer to a lot of stuff, as could the all capitalized version. Thus, I cause the only remaining domain rather than doing the whole RM thing. (no offense.) Now, if you'll forgive me, the following might seem a bit rude.

It was messed up enough that this article—whose title should, without question, end with "(band)". (OVERCAPPED or lowercase)—had the domain "Eels". You people actually defending- no...insisting on it? WTF? Bottomline: plurals should, in general, redirect to the main article's title. But the disambiguation page lists only ONE disambiguation for the plural eel, which is the band. How can you say it refers to a lot of stuff? And anyway, wasn't the "for other uses, see..." on the top of the page enough? Gika 07:59, 9 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I won't debate how many uses there are. At best, it still comes down to "

a few days ago because the term "dead pool"—with or eithout spaces—predates the fictional character.
Now, he's my advice: change te requsted title to "Eels (band)". It just isn't logical for this article to have such an ambiguous title. And hey, if it makes you feel any better, it took a lot of practice—transliteration: mistakes—to understand, respect and generally get good at this who disambiguation thing. I was like you guys. I held up the disambiguation of
Thor (comics) to Thor (Marvel Comics). I'm also sorry for not explaining my actions more clearly and leaving the article with an undesired title. Good luck with your move request. Dubya Hates Daisies

For anyone with a mind to I've a small piece of news from Eels official website on the Daisies of the Galaxy cover 'scandal'. I linked some better sources from the article, and fixed the article, which said that Bush was president in 2000 and wanted to have the album banned, two obviously laughable things. Bush likely was never aware of the album, but his staff issued a press release (and had spokesmen Ari Fleischer and Dan Bartlett talk) about how an album with profanity and cartoon imagery was given away at a Democratic get-together. (Actually, I doubt both talked about this; it's likely one did and was mistaken for the other. If anyone has any info about this, please share.) The point was not to ban the album, but that Democrats were supposedly beholden to the entertainment industry. The Bush campaign likely thought this was a Joe Camel approach to entertainment that should be enjoyed by adults. This article needs help

This article badly needs a rewrite, or at least a reworking. Too much of the material is utter

fancruft, and a lot of it has either nothing to do with the band's notability, or is entirely unimportant. I mean, an entire section on a dog? I went ahead and removed that section, as well as trimmed down the fan section to remove some of the hyperbolic statements and unrelated portions. I mean, a karaoke contest? Hardly notable or important. On a less extreme note, I recommend that the "history" section simply be repurposed into a "history" section that includes the formation of the band, as well as more information on their activity before, in-between and after albums. (of course, only NOTABLE information.) There's definitely a ton of potential for this article, but it seriously needs some help. Also, I think that the template needs to be re-worked. I understand that there have been several members of the band, but I hardly think that 53. Remember, just because they contributed to an album does NOT mean that they were part of the band. I agree, it needs to be reworked. I am a fan of the band, and I hadn't heard of half of the stuff mentioned in the article on any other site, which seems to lend credence to the non-notability of much of the article. It's hard to know what is notable for this band besides their albums, however, (I think, at least) simply because of the fact that they don't sell a ton of albums and aren't well known. 69.161.78.31 (talk) 18:55, 2 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Someone also needs to clarify the reason for the title of Hombre Lobo. The album received its title b/c it is a concept album of sorts. The dog (Bobby Jr.) is really an important part of E's life, he features in most of E's video's and has even a section on the official Eels website. [1] So although it may look strange, he should be mentioned somewhere. Acriel (talk) 13:38, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Bad dude in love

Bad dude in love is the first solo album of E. If 'A man called E' and 'Broken Toy Shop' is mentioned under E solo records, there should be a reference of this one too. On the Eels' discography there is already a reference of it. Acriel (talk) 13:38, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
