Cup Winners Cup

What about the Cup Winners' Cup? C.Heward (talk) 15:28, 27 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Abso bloody lutely! Ridiculous it's not there just because the cup isn't played for any more. And by now (5 years after the original comment), the farcical intertoto is also long gone, yet its progress is included?! Embarrassingly shoddy. Crowsus (talk) 18:53, 17 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Just some additional points regarding the CWC and defunct comps: It was absorbed into the Europa League/UEFA Cup. However, it would appear from reading this article, that the Fairs Cup was similarly dealt with. This would be inaccurate, as the Fairs Cup was not a UEFA Comp, and became defunct when UEFA launched the UEFA cup. Also, if you look at the list of multiple comp winners, you will see (e.g.) that Tottenham Hotspur have won three comps, but you can only find two mentioned. The third was the CWC. It occurs to me that you cannot exclude the CWC because the contributor has indirectly referenced it in that table. What needs to be done with this article to avoid confusion is for it to be restructured to include the CWC, and the Fairs Cup data be segregated from the UEFA Cup/EL data.46.7.195.132 (talk) 12:21, 12 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Merge proposal

I think

English clubs in the European Cup and UEFA Champions League
should be merged into this article.

Jopal22 (talk) 15:04, 6 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Agree with this. Maybe would be neater at the end of English involvement in this season's competitions. Crowsus (talk) 18:18, 14 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, I'll pick it up at the end of the season. Thanks for replying! Jopal22 (talk) 22:45, 14 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Support. Complete overlap. -- P 1 9 9   20:39, 1 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Jopal22: any interest in getting back to this? It looks like there is support, and this is now the oldest extant merge proposal on the wiki. Klbrain (talk) 17:11, 5 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Given that there is consensus to merge, but nothing has been done in a year, I've completed the merge in a simple way. There is still scope for refinement of the merged article in situ. Klbrain (talk) 14:08, 1 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Klbrain. Never got round to this. Been a bit busy! Jopal22 (talk) 14:30, 1 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

One more suggestion

one more suggestion: The table on the page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_clubs_in_the_European_Cup_and_UEFA_Champions_League#Performance_Record_and_Ranking_of_Premier_League_Clubs_According_to_Best_Result_in_the_UEFA_Champions_League) shows there have been 11 English teams that have participated in the Champions League - surely this is the most number of representatives there have been from any one country? Could this be verified? If so then I think this would be a useful fact to add in.

English clubs in European and International Tournaments

Ipswich are missing from the list of English multiple winners. City and Everton are there with 1 title each, so Ipswich need to be included as well. BRACK66 (talk) 21:08, 12 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Participations.

And a list of participations by clubs?
