"On August 15, 2008, Erick was awarded an ENnie (Gen Con EN World RPG Awards) for Lifetime Achievement. Erick was presented with the award in January 2008 by Kevin Siembieda in front of family and friends before he died." There would seem to be an error, but it is one of inept phrasing (apologies to the original author), not mistaken chronology. Since their inception in 2001, the

ENnies have been given out during a ceremony at Gen Con, traditionally held in early August. In general, the eligibility period for candidate submissions ends in April and nominees are announced in July. Although I cannot find very much information about it on their website, I reason that the Lifetime Achievement award must be a special honor granted at the discretion of EN World, rather than conferred by popular vote, as is the case with other award categories. To date, only three individuals have received it: Dave Arneson, Gary Gygax, and Erick Wujcik, all of whom were recognised in 2008. Gygax died on March 4, and Wujcik on June 7, so obviously neither of them were able to accept their awards in person at that year's official ceremony on August 15. Being aware of his diagnosis and uncertain of his prognosis, EN World decided instead to present Wujcik with the award earlier than usual, at his birthday party on January 6, 2008. - Apo-kalypso (talk) 04:09, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply
