I suggest that such links would be better handled by linking from this article to the copious numbers of articles on Thiomersal/controversy rather than by scattering links hither and thither. Disagree. The issue being that not one of those articles has any more information, and are in constant edit wars due to people who really want an enemy to fight. We need no further resource. If people do not want to accept the fact that ethylmercury is not bioaccumulating and there is no evidence from a credible scientific study showing that it does, all arguments that require ethylmercury to be bioaccumulating automatically fail. It simply is not and nothing suggests it. Giving fringe idiocy a more prominent position and control over wikipedia editing and stylizing decisions is like demanding that a consortium of ants from the world over approve every ant-related article. Its just not gonna happen and is unresonable.

Since every article on thimerosol and autism is completely wrong, why do we need to point it out louder? Its not our fault if no one will listen. there are many good scientific peer reviewed studies on this away from the whiny confines of youtube. Could anyone explain to me, how is salicylic acid related to ethylmercury⁺? Well, ethylmercuric salicylate is as a thinkable salt as the other 10^x ones, and yes, Thiomersal is derived from thiosalicylic acid,... but how exactly is salicylic acid related to EtHg⁺...? I suggest the 'well studied' be removed as it implies there is need for more studies. There have been few studies becasue they don't show any bio accumulation and as such do not warrant further studies. 209.162.223.250 (talk) 16:33, 22 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

“The toxicity of ethylmercury has been well-studied.” seems at best an incomplete thought, and at worst, a weasel sentence, leading readers to infer toxicity where there may be none. One could write similarly about many substances: “The toxicity of water has been well-studied,” for example, would be a valid statement—-but of course water has been found to be largely non-toxic. A statement of toxicity studies being performed must follow with the outcome of those studies.
