Is it possible that the west completely ignores inner-arabian contorversies and tendencies to modernize? Otherwise this article wouldn't be a stub or even non-existing in the most major western-language wikis... Unfortunately I do not speak sufficient arabian to (at least) translate the arabian article...

He resigned from his position in Al-Jazeera in April 2011.
