It's spelled genitive. The Japanese have no concept of case agreement with Latin across their myriad uses of it in video games (don't get me started on the Brawl theme song) so your translation is actually grammatically correct and Square-Enix's press releases rarely if ever have the correct translation. For their translation "light of the night sky" to be correct, his name would be Noctis Lux Caeli.

Yeah... Unlike "Aeris" or perhapth "Aerith", Versus is a word that exists in English, and in English it means opposed to... I know the FF creators were all into opera and knew a bit of latin, but I doubt they were that deep to name it versus because they were changing the direction of the series... They stated it during the press release when they first announced it and also in several interviews. I don't want to surprise you, but English isn't the only foreign language people know about in Japan, so it should come as no surprise that they choose a latin word or phrase over an English one. Also it appears that they have some sort of latin specialst in their staff, as he's done Japanese -> Latin translations of song lyrics for the composers. WtW-Suzaku 09:34, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

Well, seeing as how "fabula nova crystallis" and "agito" are in Latin, the assumption to make here is that Square-Enix intended the Latin meaning of the word. Final Fantasy Changed Direction XIII. Even if the English meaning of the word is also applicable, is the definition necessary? This is already an English-language article, and "versus" is simply an English-language word.

The real question, I think, is where can we see the trailer online? It looks to be as gorgeous as the main Final Fantasy XIII and many want to see it. It didn't seem that you needed to join. I tried to join but it says that the verification email would be sent within a week. Just enough time for the trailer to go poof. There seems to be a glitch on the Square Enix site. I was able to view the trailer twice but when I returned the member login page came up. I tried again later and the trailer site was back. It seems to be an on again and off again sort of thing. The link to the trailer on YouTube was already posted in External Links. There is no difference except for the quality. There has been much dispute as to whether the game's completion is 1 or 1.3%. This only confuses the people and so I think that it should either not be included in the page, or say something like, it is arguable whether the game's completion is 1 or 1.3%.--User:Soccerguy1039

I think no one cares enough for it to be included. Obviously, in a few weeks, that figure will change and it's not necessary to be reported every time it's mentioned. Well every bit of info I've ever looked up on FFI has been correct, plus there were 2 or 3 other sources that said the same completions. And my middle school didn't make us cite any sources since they had a good web searcher to check if you just downloaded the paper.

The upcoming video game template clearly says that the article "is likely to contain information of a speculative nature." The main character's name is a rather important piece of information which should be included, whether speculation or not. And concerning the claim of it being "pure speculation with nothing to back it up": as the article stated, Nomura has named several major characters after natural phenomena. I've reverted all the instances where the main character was called "Storm". At this point of time, we literally have NO idea what his name is, nor are there any sources to back up the fact that his name might be "Storm". We should wait until the name is officially revealed. There was also no reason to belive that Final Fantasy XIII was coming out on the 360 since Square said there were no plans for a Final Fantasy on the 360 after XI. We all know how that ended. Since XIII is no longer exclusive, it could be possible that Versus may not longer be either. There has not been any official confirmation as far as I know, though it's pretty obvious it's CGI if you compare the FF Vs. XIII video to the real time grapihcs presented in the FF XIII video.Shadowfyre (talk)

No confirmation, but the real-time combat in the FFXIII trailer looks like something the PS2 might be able to do. Not to mention, SE said themselves the trailer was showing FFXIII only in its alpha stage. Various graphical touches had yet to have been added. I have found information about the development of Final Fantasy Versus XIII.

"Dengeki has interviewed Tetsuya Nomura on the future of Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy XIII and he's revealed some more information on the development of the games.

Nomura says that with the help of the disc space on Blu-Ray and the Hard drive in each PS3, The evolution of Final Fantasy XII to XIII will be as big as the evolution of Final Fantasy VI to VII. He also says that Final Fantasy XIII will probably be the first game to use the full specifications of the Playstation 3. Another interesting thing he mentioned was that the airship present in Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be able to take part in airborne assaults over the world map. Hopefully we'll see that in action soon. Finally, Dengeki also asked him once again whether the games will be Playstation 3 exclusives which he replied to with "Of course"."

I'm going to tweak the English spelling of her last name a bit. フルーレ is the katakana for fleuret, a type of sword used in fencing (referred to as a foil in English). Since we've seen that Stella uses a rapier for a weapon, it would make sense that her last name may be a nod to the fencing connection. --Eajs (talk) 08:14, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

Did tetsuya nomura even mention that it was similar to dirge of Cerberus? If he did i suggest you say that, but this sounds like a fan boy is simply comparing another ff game with this one.

I understand you guys saying that its system is similar to Kingdom hearts 2, but the part by saying its similar to dirge of Cerberus simply because it has third person shooting elements is really stupid.

just to let you guys know i changed Noctis' description a bit. It said he had silver dark blue hair, i found it hard to see any silver in his hair, so i simply left it as "dark blue"Haseo445 (talk) 16:34, 22 January 2009 (UTC)
