Article Critique

   This article does a good job of giving an overview of what how First Maroon War got started, and the treaty that would end it. I do have a problem with the use of it's sources though. Nothing in the article, is cited although at it does show that the author has used multiple sources at the bottom of the article. The article did stay on topic though, and led me to read the Wikipedia page on the Second Maroon War, which was also adequately written about. While reading this article, I found that it stayed neutral throughout, it didn't lean towards the Maroons, or the British which I enjoyed.

    While it looks like there is a good mixture of primary, and secondary sources, I tried to follow up on these sources but there are no links to the material. Also I didn't see any footnotes of any kind throughout the article leading me to believe that there is plagiarism in this piece of writing.

    Practically all of the work cited stays neutral, it usually just gives one side of the story, but it doesn't root for a certain side. Although I would say that this article doesn't discuss the British interpretation of the War very much, it tends to stay on Jamaica's point of view, and focus on the Maroons.

    Also while reading this article I would have liked to have more information on actual battles that took place during the revolt, and maybe some of the key military figures on both sides. It describes how the British personal in charge of Jamaica thought that they couldn't defeat the Maroons, but I want to know why that is

Nanny

Although Nanny Town is mentioned briefly, Nanny of the Maroons herself is not. Considering her central role in this era, she should be given her own section. Josh a brewer (talk) 05:24, 21 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This section deals mainly with the War, with little reference to the leaders, be they Cudjoe, Accompong, Quao or Nanny. But there's a link to each of them which should carry those interested to another page dealing with each personality.Mikesiva (talk) 14:23, 24 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
