"Lebanon enjoys good relations with virtually all of its Arab neighbors (except Syria) (despite historic tensions with Libya, the Palestinians, and Iraq),"

When there are that many major exceptions, I think "good relations with virtually all of its Arab neighbors" is a unmerited statement. Does anyone support changing this? Is anyone against a change?

A more accurate description would be "Lebanon has traditionally enjoyed good relations with other pro-Western Arab states." Dinopup 04:37, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Sheba Farms is a largely unpopulated area of South Lebanon, occupied by Israel in 1967. Hizballah sought to use the captives for leverage to release Lebanese prisoners whom Israel has admitted were taken for political purposes."

Shouldn't it be mentioned that Sheba Farms is, according to the UN, Syrian land, not part of Lebanon? Also, is there a source for the Israeli admittance that captives were taken for political purposes? (And what are "political purposes"?) Leauki 22:28, 26 May 2006 (GMT)

Added UN report indicating that Shebaa farms is part of Syria, not Lebanon. I assume that captives taken for political purposes = bargaining chips, but I'm not too sure in this case. Will look more. Fufthmin 13:34, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This agression has soured the relationship between the Lebanese and Israelis even more and should be mentioned in the article. Just last week, Prime Minister Saniora rejected peace talks with the Israelis saying that Lebanon would "be the last Arab country that could sign a peace agreement with Israel." I went to Lebanon for a holiday last weekend. An Italian friend I travelled with had an Israeli stamp in his passport and was admitted with no problem. He was questioned more than the others on the trip and given an exit card that he was told to show when leaving the country. That was all. The comment on the page that people are refused entry with an Israeli stamp is not referenced, having said that, I can't reference my experience this weekend, and it would count as "original research". Having said that, it seems daft to leave clearly incorrect information here. Fork me (talk) 21:59, 26 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
