Timeline

References were extremely poor, I think I have now established at least the following timeline,

  • 15 June 2006: discovery
  • 2009: early media reports
  • May 2010: excavation start
  • 5 Nov 2010: first mention of the name Gabarnmung? [1]
  • 6 Nov 2010 university press release
  • December 2010: creation of this Wikipedia page (apparently based on reports on the 6 November press release)
  • 2011 first academic publication (Journal of Australian Archaeology)
