Beginning of Article

The beginning of this article rambles too much. I don't think so much attention should be given to the date. Three or four sentences are spent on the subject. What so and so said incorrectly about the date, how so and so confirmed that that date was incorrect, etc. How about starting the article with an introduction to the group rather than an argument for why the group began in 1980 rather than 1981.

I'm nearly 4 years late, but I've tried to address your concerns by removing the dueling claims. The GVB page on Gaither.com states "early 1980s", so that seems the best way to go, avoidin the specifc year altogether. - BilCat (talk) 22:41, 1 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

External Link

Why would there be an external link to a "discography" that contains nothing? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.32.35.240 (talk) 03:46, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Piles and piles of goop, unsourced, original, opinionated and unverificable information.

This article is about 10 times longer than it needs to be. The tense shifts, uses poor words, and is highly subjective and opinionated. I will return to clean this up to about 5000 bytes maximum. Perhaps Musdan will like to help to keep this article factual and sourced without all the unnecessary and silly inclusions. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.233.128.196 (talk) 08:49, 1 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well yes, I will try, when I can. The length of the main body of the article is not very long comparatively. I think it's the Members section that makes it long. Now, if you are really concerned about this article, then perhaps instead of just deleting what's written, you too could find sources. You could also place the "citation needed" tags where needed, so people could know what is needed. Thanks --Musdan77 (talk) 19:27, 1 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Alot of this article is not emcyclopedia type material. It contains numerous opinionated, subjective and original research and "facts". Perhaps, you should review a published encyclopedia and read it to familiarize yourself with what an encyclopedia should contain and not contain. I am sure that would enable you to understand the differences between goop and subjective/opinionated material and what is factual and informative in a true sense. I will return later to address the many unimportant details included herein. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.32.61.16 (talk) 22:52, 1 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

plagiarized

Why do you contiinue to reinstitute the word for word puff piece of the band website. This is plagiarism and is a no no for wiki. I find it hard to believe that the website is copying wiki for their puff piiece. Wiki is an encyclopedia and not a marketing company. Do not edit this again unless you rewrite it within the confines of wiki guidelines musdan77. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.8.149.149 (talk) 18:46, 5 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop vandalizing (anonymously) by deleting half of this article. --Musdan77 (talk) 18:51, 5 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Not vandalism. Stop the plagiarizing of the gaither band marketing website. This article you are reinstituting is a word for word copy of their wbsite. Let us be creative. Do not attempt to tell me that Gaither copied this website for his marketing. Research your reference and compare it...it is a word for word copy. Wiki is not a marketing company and is an encyclopedia of factual and not an extension of Gaither band. Please use your brain musdan. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.8.149.149 (talk) 18:59, 5 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Once again please stop vandalizing, troll. You think I haven't read the website? There is no plagiarism. If you have any proof, you need to show it here before making deletions ...and accusations. --Musdan77 (talk) 00:48, 6 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Troll huh? LOL Not very christian now is it? You have to do more to convince me that it is not plagiarism than switch a few sentence around. Plagiarism is plagiarism. I think I will send a link of your article to the webmaster of Gaithers website and let him decide if it is in violation of the copyright of the site. Maybe, then you will be held accountable for the plagiarism and be held personally liable. You are a typical christian without a brain....Right Musdan77? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.233.219.163 (talk) 03:06, 6 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Calm down man, its not that serious, its just a game. Georgewashingtonshorse (talk) 16:43, 11 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Lineup and Era

Why would the members of Ernie Haase and Signature Sound be listed as members of the Vocal Band? Doing so turns what should be one "era" into essentially 3 when simply stating that one album was recorded with another group as it already is should have been enough. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.191.199.60 (talk) 01:10, 3 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Animation

So, apparently this band either produced or funded "Dorbees", a 90s 3D animated children's "show" (only one episode was produced) that sits somewhere on the leftmost rim of the uncanny valley. Given that the show seems to be a one-off attempt at making a Veggie Tales-esque program, it's understandable that it isn't included in the page, but at the same time I think that, as part of the band's history, it should at least be noted in some part. We'd need a reliable published source about it to add anything. - BilCat (talk) 03:13, 31 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It's listed on their website's shop, at [1]. However, I can't seem to find anything from a news source, only web forums. Actually, it seems that there are a few animations. I think this one stands out at least a little though, because it has some level of notoriety online. StigmaOfTruth (talk) 21:55, 31 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
