I tried this font, but the upper-case Y appears instead of a lower-case open-tail g [ɡ].

I consider Gentium a clear plagiarism of Palatino. If you write two lines of text exactly above each other, the first in Gentium, the second in Palatino, you can see that Gentium is in fact Palatino with rounded corners. Also try special characters like "&", "!", "?", or numbers -- they look exactly the same. I think this similarity cannot be excused with "inspiration" or something like that -- this case goes too far. Have a look at it. I suggest Wikipedia should not ignore this fact and should at least include a notice. Opinions? 77.23.65.95 (talk) 16:45, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You must be joking. These two fonts look nothing alike, and Gentium is one of the most original serif typeface designs in recent history. No other text serif typefaces keep such high ascenders with the smaller capitals to eliminate the need for small caps and old style numerals. If you actually inspect the fonts, you will see that there is very little that is similar about them. Tengu800 (talk) 00:46, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
