Relation to uGMRT

Astronomers refer to the uGMRT. (example: https://www.astronomerstelegram.org/?read=14538) A search for "uGMRT" on wikipeda yields nothing. What are their relations and locations? Please, someone should contribute this. 192.184.128.46 (talk) 18:47, 9 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Collecting area

Currently, the 'Collecting area' in the info box says "60,750m^2". Someone recently added "(30 * πr2 = 47713m2)?" behind the collecting area. It seems the current stated collecting area is the collecting area were the dishes square-shaped: 30*45^2 = 60.750m^2, so this is obviously not correct. In this paper: http://www.gmrt.ncra.tifr.res.in/gmrt_hpage/Users/doc/Papers/gmrta.ps the collecting area is summarized as: "30 parabolic dishes of 45 m diameter each were built, providing a total effective collecting area of nearly 30,000 m^2 for frequencies less than about 600 MHz and 20,000 m^2 for frequencies in the range 1000-1450 MHz." It seems thus this recent remark is valid and hence I'm changing the collecting area to 47.713m^2. anoko_moonlight (talk) 16:12, 15 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
