BBC Interview
One does not mean to cavil but the Wilson interview is reprised in Episode 2: 10 Days of Terror of Peter Taylor's BBC Age of Terror series (2008). What he said is quite was quite different to the quote used. Nonetheless it was of the same sentiment. If we can get the actual quote it would be better. I do not understand this passage
"He contacted senior members of the IRA following the bombings which killed two boys in Warrington, England in 1993. (a) Despite his begging them to stop, (b) the IRA issued a statement offering "sincerest condolences and apologies" for his daughter's death. (c) Wilson said his efforts had been "quite pointless"; he also noted that some Protestants never forgave him for meeting the IRA."
- I do not understand the contradiction between the sections (a) and (b).
- Section (b) looks like his mission was successful.
- Section (c) lookes like he was disappointed, because his mission had been unsuccessful.
