Re: CSD

It is not clear to me why this article could be considered to be a promotion of something. The subject, Hap Glaudi, passed away 21 years ago and has not worked as a broadcast journalist for considerably longer than that. He is a matter of historical interest to the broadcast community, to the sports community, and to those interested in the unique culture of New Orleans. Therefore, it is not a promotion but an illustration of a local celebrity in a unique culture. Perhaps "illustration of a local celebrity in a unique culture" could be somehow construed as a promotion, but this is certainly not the case, especially since the subject is a long-deceased local celebrity. Nothing commercial is at stake in this article, nothing to buy or sell, no promotion of a living individual. The article is simply historical. Nolabob (talk) 11:51, 26 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Phrases like "A formative period in his early education", "His style resonated well in New Orleans", "Glaudi began to enjoy a national reputation." and finally, "Glaudi appeared in a 1964 episode of CBS-TV's hit show Gunsmoke in a bit part. A common practice at the time was for local celebrities to take bit parts in the parent network's popular television shows both to promote their show and their affiliates." Who says he's a local celebrity? Most of these phrases constitute

Source issues and assessment

This article has far too much unsourced content. It does not pass the B-class criteria (#1) with an unsourced section and certain contentious content like "During his freshman year at Jesuit High he entered the English Writing Contest with a story about an exercise boy at the New Orleans Fairgrounds who discovers a criminal plot. His story won the Gold Medal and the then school president told Hap he wouldn't have to pay tuition in the future.".
I thought I would raise the concerns before tagging and possible demotion. Otr500 (talk) 04:27, 12 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
