This paper from last year says that “Liv-52 is used quite effectively against hepatic damages (Stickel and Hellerbrand, 2015). However, it also fails to demonstrate clinical efficacy in alcoholic liver damages.” However Stickel and Hellerbrand (1995), the paper cited to support that, says, “Three controlled clinical trials with Liv.52 were published with conflicting results, of which the largest found no benefit of Liv.52”. I haven’t managed to track down any relevant systematic reviews on Pubmed, but I may just not have been using the right search terms, I was looking through quite large lists of hits to do with herbal medicines and liver, so could have missed something. “Systematic review” plus “liv.52” or “liv-52” didn’t find anything. I may even have missed something in the two papers I’ve linked to here as I’m currently looking at this on a phone, so more eyes on them would be welcome. Many of the statements in this article are sourced to the company's CEO. It would be best to find better sourcing, especially with respect to medical claims like 'Liv.52' being hepato-protective. ScienceFlyer (talk) 22:34, 30 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
