"over 5 decades"

I've changed this to "over forty years", as the original makes me feel too old. I know what the original means, and that a band formed in the late 60's have now been playing in 6 separate decades, but the common sense meaning of the phrase means that they've been together for over fifty years, which isn't the case.

Alternate spelling

Should the alternate spelling be included? And explained?
