Plot Synopsis

I've never seen this film. Came here to get a synopsis. Current synopsis was way too abbreviated -- significant characters (i.e. Zero) are just named out of nowhere without any background. Restored an old version of the synopsis. If someone wants to abbreviate this, I'm fine with that, but the current abbreviation didn't adequately explain the film to someone unfamiliar with it (e.g. me as a sample reader). 65.79.153.121 (talk) 04:09, 2 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately while I agree with most of the changes,
WP:FILMPLOT states that plot summaries are to be between 400 and 700 words. Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 05:02, 2 May 2016 (UTC)[reply

Genre?

So, what genre should this be classified under in the lede? I don't necessarily agree with comedy because, while there are humorous moments in the film, it also gets pretty damn serious at times (such as Sam's murder, Mr. Sir's attack, Zero's discussion about what happened to his mom, etc.). I guess comedy-drama/adventure would be good enough, but I'd like some feedback. Dpm12 (talk) 07:25, 25 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

According to the Allmovie entry, the genres are "children's/family film" with escape film and teen movie as sub-genres. However, the BFI entry lists the genres as comedy and crime. I'll check on some more sources and add them here as I go along. Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 23:49, 27 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Richard Kelly's script?

Should there be any mention of Richard Kelly's rejected screenplay for Holes? Abelhawk (talk) 23:13, 5 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

External link

The external link "Official website" (http://movies.disney.com/holes) is broken.--Arsenal sin platea (talk) 18:06, 18 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, went ahead and retrieved an archive for the site (https://web.archive.org/web/20130707014926/http://movies.disney.com/holes) which should suffice as a good replacement. ~~Tristan ("TheDisneyGamer") 20:42, 18 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I only changed the address because on that day's archive there wasn't any content.--Arsenal sin platea (talk) 05:29, 24 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good. ~~Tristan ("TheDisneyGamer") 14:49, 24 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Character names in the cast section

An IP, 104.246.41.139 (talk · contribs · WHOIS), was repeatedly adding the Yelnats name to the Cast section despite the fact that we list only the credited names in the section. To avoid a potential edit war, I'm opening up a discussion here. Given that, what should we do about the credited names in the cast section? Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 15:04, 25 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

According to
MOS:FILMCAST, All names should be referred to as credited, or by common name supported by a reliable source. If the IP can provide reliable sources that show these are common names, then they can stay. —El Millo (talk) 15:55, 25 May 2023 (UTC)[reply

Seville/Sevillo

To the best of my knowledge, "Sevillo" is not a last name. Mr. Sir's real surname could just as easily be Seville. Why does everyone think it's Sevillo? 198.252.228.2 (talk) 17:37, 30 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, the police officer refers to Mr. Sir as "Marion Sevillo" at the end of the film. Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 19:57, 31 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The Warden?

The Warden is not mentioned once in the synopsis despite Sigourney Weaver leading the cast. 2601:152:97F:8A60:5541:7540:2DFC:A3A4 (talk) 01:53, 16 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
