Horizons genre
Horizon is not an An ARPG as insisted by playstation. And as such many ratings boards have come to the consensus that the game is infact a action-adventure game. They've reached that conclusion in a personal space and yet this place refuses to acknowledge that instead favoring PlayStations own definition. May I remind people that playstation has been known to lie about their products with things such as "only available on PS" or "only possible on PS" and still till this day prints 8k on the PS5 box even though the PS5 doesn't have 8k supp. I also find it weird that we're choosing to ignore professional consensus both on the definition of ARPG and on what genre the game is for absolutely no reason. I'm confused how people see the correlation between Horizon and ARPG's such as Diablo, path of exile or elden ring. I implore you all to do some research instead of just taking PlayStations words on things and or at the very least change it to action-adventure RPG rt Heithtrev (talk) 07:09, 13 September 2023 (UTC)
- Hi WP:GENREWARRIOR. I'll remind you that there is a hidden note that specifically says]
Do not attempt to label the game as being an "action-adventure game [with RPG elements]" unless we have reliable sources stating this.
soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 09:05, 13 September 2023 (UTC)- could you possibly provide the sources typically used as the only sources I've found calling this a action role playing game are playstation and pegi and I'm just trying to find out how the conclusion was made to call this an action rpg thanks :) Heithtrev (talk) 09:12, 13 September 2023 (UTC)
- Hi WP:BURDENis on you to show why it's necessary. But since you're new, I'll try to help you out.
- Metacritic calls it 'open world action'
- IGN sorts it under 'sci-fi, action, adventure, RPG, open world'
- Kotaku: 'open world RPG'
- Gematsu: 'action RPG'
- Eurogamer sorted the review under the tag 'action adventure', but it doesn't mention it in text, but does say RPG
- GamesRadar lists the game under 'The 25 best RPGs you can (and should) play right now'
- VG247: 'medieval fantasy action RPG'
- As you can see, there are plenty of sources that describe it differently, and not just PlayStation. I've pointed you to list of reliable sources, if you like to look up other sources, have a blast. Hope this helps. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 19:25, 14 September 2023 (UTC)
