On the goofs section, while the mutilation is leela's idea, bender has since compared it to cutting genitalia - making leela's later reaction quite valid.

I'm adding Olde Foretran to the list of featured products. It can be clearly seen (though Bender tosses it away, turning to sobriety) at around minute 16, though it's labeled "Old Fortran" Caliprincess 07:31, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sources?

Just noting a possible source for this article. It's pay to view but it appears to be about the Futurama move to Tuesday nights and is published two days after this episode aired (this was the first to be on Tuesdays). I'll try to have a look at it sometime when I have more time. Daily Herald Archives Stardust8212 04:48, 30 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cultural references

As I recently brought up at the wikiproject (

here) it is time we did something about the cultural references sections. I am moving all unsourced references to the talk pages for the time being in hopes of creating a better, more thoroughly sourced article. Please discuss this action at the wikiproject link above so as not to split it over 72 different talk pages. The information removed from the article follows. • A lady from the apartment next to Fry and Bender claims that Bender's thoughts are being transmitted to her cellphone. When she closes the phone, it beeps like the communicator from Star Trek.
  • After Fry fixes the TV, his "'Ey" is similar to that of Happy Days character, Fonzie (who would often repair things with a simple tap).
  • The montage during which Bender wanders the streets of New New York stinking sober is a reference to the film "The Lost Weekend", starring Ray Milland, a story about an alcoholic desperate for a drink.
  • The finding of Bender's severed antenna in a field by Officers Smitty and URL may be a reference to the discover of
    Lorena Bobbitt
, after cutting off her husband's penis, tossed it out of the window of her moving car. Like Bender, Bobbitt's missing "Little Bender" was found and reattached.
  • "Fruit Salad" trees, also called "Fruit Cocktail" trees, actually do exist. They are produced by grafting multiple (related) species onto a single tree.

Removed two more that popped up, as I stated in the edit summary, linking to a possible copyright violation video on youtube is not the same as a

reliable source. Please consider this before readding these. Stardust8212 17:14, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply
