Noticed a discrepancy

In the "Citizenship" section, the page states:

Children born in France to foreign parents are automatically granted French citizenship upon reaching the age of 18.

However, the page "French Nationality Law" states:

  • The child (legitimate or natural) is French if born in France to at least one parent also born in France.
  • Simply being born in France does not confer French nationality except in the case of a child born to unknown or stateless parents, or to aliens whose nationality is not transmitted to the child.

I'm hoping someone who knows which is right can fix one or both of them. --Venice (talk) 23:52, 20 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Addition of more recent statistics and plan for further editing

Hello fellow wikipedians,

I just made a contribution to the article by adding more recent data on the foreign-born population from the INSEE and Eurostat. I am part of a wiki-ed student project for a class on migration and I plan to make some editing to this article. I am currently gathering statistics on the spatial repartition of the immigrant population notably to replace sentences marked with 'citation needed'. I will also try to improve the page using the French version which is significantly more developped. Please let me know of your questions and comments. You can see my work-in-progress in my sandbox.
