I commented out the statement that Dobrowen helped found the London Symphony Orchestra -- he would have only been 13 years old at the time. Grover cleveland 09:14, 10 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The article says he emigrated from the Soviet Union in 1922, but back then the Russian Civil War was going on. Was he ever a Soviet citizen, or did he leave before becoming one? He's also been given the category "White Russian emigrants", which suggests that he wasn't a Soviet. Does anyone know which it was? Soviet or White Russian emigrant? We currently state 1891, but there are strong reasons to believe that 1894 is correct. All Norwegian newspapers used 1894 at the time of his death, and earlier Norwgian newspapers also use it (e.g. a 1935 newspaper claims he's 41 years old). His tombstone uses 1894. The encyclopedia Norges musikkhistorie ("The musical history of Norway") uses 1894. I tend to trust these sources more than I trust Gemeinsame Normdatei, Autorités BnF and the other databases that claim 1891.

Thoughts on changing his year of birth to 1894 also in Wikipedia? Regards, Kjetil_r 22:03, 25 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
