Crtical Reception

The psychoanalyses in the "Crtical Reception" section need to simply go away. They have nothing to do with reviewer critiques. None of the "psychoanalysts" have ever met the artist. They make speculations that do not consider the full context of the artist's work. In this case, an early video (Pourvu que'elles soient douces) includes a narration that states that - God can only wash away men's sins with their own blood. This gets mentioned in neither analysis and makes them both noncredible. The video of this article includes shots where the artist assumes the "repentant sinner" (kneeling) pose of St Mary Magdalene - patron saint of sinners. This is not a "fetus" pose and it is also a pose adopted on the "Rever" album cover (sans sang). The same pose appears again as a statue in "Redonne-moi". The artist attended Catholic schools for 12 years, and is therefore intimately familiar with the imagery and its symbolism. Furthermore, the French language version of this article does not include any psychoanalysis. Bottom line: the last two paragraphs of this section contain no factual information about critiques of the song and video and are irreparable. They should be deleted.
