In this sentence, "The son of an innkeeper, he 'botanized' in the company of the duc de la Rochefoucauld, in the democratic companionship that early science fostered." , does the writer mean he "flourished" when using he "botanized? It seems like a strange word to use especially considering he is a physics and chemisty teacher. --Rajah 14:59, 1 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The article contains the sentence "The young hero swam in his own blood." Obviously this is hyperbole, but is this supposed to be a quotation of popular historical accounts of the incident, or what? And if so, can we have a source? 71.141.89.149 07:10, 31 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The 1870 book Wonderful Balloon Ascents says that final ascent was with his brother, named Pierre Romain, that the balloon did catch fire "with a violet flame", that the body of Roziers was recovered burned and that Romain survived a few minutes after the crash. See page 184. A contrary account on the next page says that the balloon did not catch fire (as the article states now). Is there a further source of this account to differentiate between the two?
