He actually had a .324 season in 1978, I know all of his stats from all of his years except for 1979, but I know for a fact, that he had a .324 Avg in 1979, being his best season.

Jesus Alou accidently swallowed his tongue in a fairly well known incident, and would have died if not for the intervention of the trainer. See, for example http://www.astrosdaily.com/history/1969/timeline.html. Psalm 119:105 (talk) 08:07, 5 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Apprently, they took the field at least three times that season, First on August 1st, for a preseason, and then on Game 6 and game7 ...
