The Empire Question

In the original article I quoted almost entirely from Who's Who in Music 1913 which says:-

"Sang solo in National Anthem at re-opening of Empire and remained there as solo vocalist 1905-6".

But Who's who in the theatre (1916) says:-

"during 1905-6 appeared at the Empire theatre"

This book has an appendix with theatres and I can be pretty certain that it means "The Empire Leicester Square". My initial seaches for "re-openings" have yielded nothing. It could be that existing articles about the Empire are not sufficiently detailed; I have lots of books on people, but none on buildings. So for now I am going to remove the reference to "re-opening" and quote only from the 1916 book - pending further investigation. Richard J Myers (talk) 18:42, 19 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

OK, that's a good compromise for now. Please check out
WP:HYPHEN for more information about using dashes and hyphens in WP text and notes, since it comes up in almost every article. Best regards, -- Ssilvers (talk) 19:23, 19 October 2012 (UTC)[reply

Photograph

Have uploaded a photo. It was the original one I put in the article but it was deleted as copyright status was uncertain. Today I have been in contact with the UK Intellectual Property Office who sent me an email about photo/postcard copyright in the UK. I can now be certain that it is out of copyright. I have also removed the infobox as I do not believe that it adds to the article in any way. Richard J Myers (talk) 17:19, 25 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Richard. You don't seem to have given any date of publication on the image page, except a "probable" date. I am pretty sure that someone will delete it again eventually unless you explain there (not here) how you are certain that it is not in copyright. The image people on Wikipedia are pretty strict. Can you positively date it to before x date with certainty? If so, you should say so on the image page. -- 20:24, 26 October 2012 (UTC)

Assessment

I do not believe that this article is quite C-class yet. It is missing references, and it is not very complete -- the last 20 years of her career are covered in one sentence. -- Ssilvers (talk) 20:49, 20 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
