I don't know how to make the picture appear on the right hand side of the page, I uploaded it but all that is visible is the link.--MPet 03:25, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Updating Enrollment

Attempting to update enrollment numbers, but NCES does not have updated information for the 2018-2019 school year.

https://nces.ed.gov/ccd/schoolsearch/school_detail.asp?Search=1&SchoolID=170993000990&ID=170993000990 -- Reports 1,815 students for 2017-18 year

Should we use this source in tandem with the 2017-18 data from City of Chicago's data portal? if we do, there's another conflict:

https://data.cityofchicago.org/Education/Chicago-Public-Schools-School-Profile-Information-/kh4r-387c/data -- Reports 1,918 students for 2017-2018 year

What should be put up? — Preceding unsigned comment added by TwelvePointFive (talkcontribs) 00:15, 1 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

No one can edit the page at all now. There is no need to have the most up to date numbers. NCES is the standard source we use, and of course I have no objection to that. As I explained on your talk, this is an encyclopedia, by definition tertiary. Secondary sources are always preferred. Additionally, by using the same source across all school articles, it allows an even comparison to be drawn between schools. If you agree, and also state that you are the same editor as was edit warring from the IP, we can request protection be lifted. There is a suite of statistics that can and should be added from NCES. Thanks. Please sign your talk page posts. Thanks. John from Idegon (talk) 04:10, 1 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I was the same editor from my IP. I was not aware of this secondary source process in place, I just saw a number was outdated so I went to the same source and updated it, thinking it would be a simple correction and that the source in use currently was fine. Now that at least I am aware of NCES we can use that from now on. TwelvePointFive (talk) 11:25, 1 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
And you learned how to handle having edits reverted too, so win-win. I'll ping the protecting admin here in a few to get the protection lifted. If you need help ever, gimmie a hollar. Thanks. John from Idegon (talk) 12:06, 1 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
