i totally agree. this article should be rewritten by at least someone who is not trying to sell me.

Was this article written by Judah Friedlander's agent? Twisket 06:19, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

How exactly does

World Champion link here? --SVTCobra 01:43, 17 May 2006 (UTC)[reply

Ok, it's been fixed. --SVTCobra 22:40, 19 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dave Matthews video

Wasn't he in a Dave Matthews video where he goes around hugging people? That's where I remember him first becoming really famous. --Howdybob 15:38, 28 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That had been in the article, but someone edited out. I can't say why. Feeeshboy 03:33, 29 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Recent reverts

I am again reverting the edits by Jeffrey O. Gustafson because they removed viable content for no apparent reason and also introduced some awkward wording and errors of language. Obviously, the article needed work to begin with, but perhaps if there is a particular problem with the way it is worded we can discuss it rather than continue reverting.

For one thing, I contend that

schtick is far more appropriate than "comedy routine" in the third paragraph. The "World Champion" thing is a gimmick, an attitude, a source of humor but not a routine in and of itself. Furthermore, "schtick" implies a signature move or line, which "World Champion" certainly qualifies as: he writes it on his hats and tee-shirts (which I think he also sells). There were huge (huge) problems with the language and tone of the article before I removed alot of the fluff and gibberish. It was written like a piece in Variety and that garbage will remain out ("introduction to showbiz" working as a soundman is not appropriate for an encyclopedia, for instance). I have put the word schtick back in, linking it. --Jeffrey O. Gustafson - Shazaam! - <*> 13:13, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No, you really (really) didn't. If you refer to the edit history, I'm the one who took out most of the "puff" language, with the exception of "introduction to showbiz...", which is obviously informal and I'm happy to see go. Obviously I could have been "bolder", but I basically rewrote the entire article in order to address POV concerns and provide a few references. Clearly the article was far from perfect, but I don't appreciate your tone with respect to content I've worked on.
You took out "real life nerd", which is nonessential but I thought a harmless detail (interesting to note that, for example, he had a role for which he didn't dress as himself). You've also recreated a sentence fragment with "Although, his first exposure to many was as "The Hug Guy" ... ", which is one of the main reasons I was reverting. This article is not good enough yet to be worth arguing over the organization, although I felt it flowed better before your edits (although some aspects of the article are clearly improved). I can't revert a third time, and anyway, I need to review the bio manual of style before trying to improve the organization here.
"
Schtick" was linked to begin with. If you'd followed the link, you might have seen why it was appropriate rather than hastily deciding that it was "puff" language. Feeeshboy 14:25, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply

filmography

The numerous additions mentioning various screen roles are making this article disorganized, and many of these roles are not very noteworthy. If someone wants to create a filmography section, then that would be fine, but I'm taking out most of the unsourced, casual mentions. Feeeshboy (talk) 17:52, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
