Needs trimming

I would like to thank User:Jhasegaw for this expansion of the article; there is a lot of good content here. However, in some places it is too in-depth or detailed, including information that is not encyclopedic (e.g., information about when his sabbaticals were, CV-like information, information about whose dissertations he chaired) or that reads more like a memoir than an encyclopedia entry, or information that belongs more in an article about the quantal theory about speech than an article about Dr. Stevens himself. So at some point, it will be necessary to go through and trim some of this content down. I won't have time for a while as I am busy with other things, but I just wanted to give fair warning that I or another editor might be doing that soon. rʨanaɢ (talk) 07:10, 3 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks User:Rjanag; I've implemented what I understood of your comments, but of course feel free to edit further.User:Jhasegaw
Thank you, these changes do look like an improvement (although I do not have time right now to review very carefully). Some work probably still needs to be done (for example, most of the "Professional Service" section looks like material that belongs in a CV but does not need to be in a Wikipedia article), but this is a start.
By the way, when commenting on a talk page, you can sign your comment by typing four tildes (~~~~); this will leave your username and also a timestamp showing when you left that comment. Thanks, rʨanaɢ (talk) 21:41, 4 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
