The result of the move request was: moved. Consensus to move; editors in opposition argued that this band is the primary topic for this dab, while editors in support argued that they are insufficiently primary for an already disambiguated title.

As both arguments are equally aligned with policy this comes down to which argument was more convincing to the community; with twice as many editors supporting the move than opposing it there is a consensus to move this article. Certainly a title with () can be a primary topic. Please see

WP:INCDAB, the final paragraph of which was the result of an RfC on exactly that point. Adding "German" does not benefit anyone because the minority seeking the British band will get to that article as easily through the hatnote on this article as they would through a dab page, while the majority are not inconvenienced by needing to go through an unnecessary dab page in order to get to the article they want. • Support: The title already requires someone to clarify what they are looking for with a parenthetical "(band)" disambiguator, so it may as well also include the "German" qualifier that is necessary to clearly identify which topic they are looking for. Hatnotes are not very prominent, so some readers may not notice what the hatnote is saying, or may only notice it after reading a substantial amount of coverage of a different topic from what they are looking for.   What difference would it make if it were at the top of the band list or the bottom of the list as long as the ratio is many times greater? The point is that one page is clearly more popular than the other. Pretending the one on the bottom doesn't belong because it isn't at the top is really kinda funny when you think about it. Also, if the page is already partially disambiguated, then people have no need of the German qualifier to learn there is more than one topic that fits their description since it is already obvious. If I know nothing at all about either band, and all I have to go on is two nationalities to pick from, that isn't good to know because it doesn't help me choose, while keeping it the way it is does help me choose as explained earlier. Another reason to keep as is because it also seems there might be some debate about whether the ban should represented as German or not. It seems that the Kingdom Come (Kingdom Come album) represents them as being an American/German band, so I would not be surprised if the article in question had a history of debate on the matter, and a contentious thing like that should be left as is IMHO.   7:1 is not "many". "Many" starts around 70:1, or is at least higher than that. Most cases in the list are above that number, and the value matters. I don't notice any contention over whether this band that the article says was formed in Germany and is based in Germany should be called a German band or not, but the Allmusic page about them (which is the first source cited in the article) calls them "German hard rockers". —⁠ ⁠BarrelProof (talk) 05:17, 21 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, and the first source on the album page (which is also from allmusic) says they are a British psychedelic style band, so disambiguating to nationalities is not helpful at all in this case since the band could be partially disambiguated to several nationalities now. In other words, disambiguating to nationalities makes it more confusing to choose, not less confusing. If the band is famous for being somewhat "copycats" of Led Zeppelin British psychedelic style, but I don't know what nationality they are, then choosing between British/German would likely confuse the hell out of me, and I would most likely be sorely disappointed by choosing British, but even knowing they are British psychedelic style, I would still choose the one that simply says band first for the same reasons I've already stated before.   That seems to be referring to https://www.allmusic.com/album/kingdom-come-mw0000327387. It identifies the album's style as "British Psychedelia" (among other style identifiers) in the website's sidebar; it does not say the band is a British band. Moreover, please note that

  Not that these are the best titles, or even particularly good titles, but the point being the possibility of disambiguating to multiple nationalities is there, and if that possibility does exist, then the possibility of confusion in that area also does exist and needs to be taken into consideration...
