Was Koreagate the first time the suffix "-gate" was used to mean "Scandal" post-Watergate?
I was actually pondering the same question, until I asked one of my professors. According to Richard Barton, Koreagate was one of the first times the suffix "gate" was used in relation to Watergate. However, many contemporary scandals, even ones involving sports are referred to with gate as the suffix. John K 11:40, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
